Sunset Sundays ’26 – Celebrating our 21st year of house, breaks, techno & more; along the water and under the sunsets. World-class DJs, top-tier sound, the longest running club night in the area
From her early days as the voice behind iconic house supergroups like Pleasure State and Hot Natured, LA-based singer-songwriter Anabel Englund quickly emerged as a standout talent in the house music scene. With a string of successful singles, she made waves leading into the release of her debut album Messing With Magic in 2020. In the years that followed, Englund racked up an impressive 12 #1 US Dance Airplay singles in just a few years, graced major festival stages like Glastonbury, Coachella, and EDC, and became the first woman to win iHeart Music’s prestigious “Dance Artist of the Year” award in 2023—a milestone that also marked her fourth consecutive nomination in the category for 2024.
Englund has continually pushed the boundaries of her sound, embracing a dynamic, eclectic approach to dance music while further developing her identity as a multi-faceted songwriter. After nearly a decade in the industry, this year marks a pivotal moment for Englund, as she feels she’s finally honing in on a sound that she can truly call “hers”—one that blends creativity with a proven formula for success. Collaborating with music heavyweights like Lee Foss, MK, Disco Lines, Benny Benassi, Tchami, and Kaleena Zanders, Englund’s growth as an artist is evident, as each new release builds upon the last in exciting and innovative ways.
Her latest Born to Fly EP showcases the range of her songwriting abilities. On her single “Get Busy,” co-written with Alex Chapman and producer Adam Novodor, Englund channels the infectious energy of a classic pop anthem, filtered through her bold, edgy dance music lens. The result is a captivating modern dance-pop track that’s as catchy as it is daring. In contrast, “Zen Cowboy” is a mesmerizing blend of Kacey Musgraves’ storytelling and Rufus Du Sol’s atmospheric vibe, showcasing Anabel’s versatility and emotional depth. “Falling Up,” her collaboration with powerhouse producers Punctual, reveals a darker, more dance-centric side of Englund, further solidifying her ability to keep listeners hooked.
Coming off the heels of the release of Born to Fly, which has garnered over 5M streams, and with momentum from standout performances at BBC Radio 1 Malta, Kaskade’s Sun Soaked festival, and Nocturnal Wonderland – Anabel Englund most recently teamed up with rising producer Kamino on “Belong To Me”. The track continues Anabel’s streak of emotionally rich, dance-ready tracks blending her signature ethereal vocal with Kamino’s club forward production to capture that electric moment of instant desire.
As her sound evolves, Englund continues to find a perfect balance between pop appeal and her dancefloor roots, blending sparkling beats with heartfelt, swooning melodies. Her music evokes a sense of wonder, much like the elusive beauty of a rainbow—an everyday phenomenon that still manages to inspire awe. Themes of infatuation, yearning, and heartbreak weave through her lyrics, offering listeners both a deeply personal experience and a universal connection. With each new single, Anabel Englund continues to refine her craft, offering a fresh, infectious sound that promises to captivate and keep audiences coming back for more. The journey is only just beginning, with the anticipation for her upcoming releases building to a fever pitch.
