The first rumblings of Calvin Stanley started back in 2012, when Robert Balotsky (also known as the bass music artist Buku) attended Decibel Festival in Seattle. Experiencing techno in its proper context was a life changing moment for him. He didn’t know it then, but this would light the fire to pursue his own techno project over a decade later. Since sparking that flame, he’s been working on crafting his own flavor of techno, alongside studying kick-drum-driven music at events all over the country. The culmination of his life within music has led to the creation of Calvin Stanley.
