CHEE & TSURUDA
w/special guests Nosium, Booz, Antipode.
After several years of lateral experimentation in sound design, South African producer CHEE erupted into the international bass scene following a handful of successful self-releases and releases through Dutch label, UNDERSLUG. Once music began circulating, his sonic innovation and advanced production skills quick;ly gained the attention of many prime figures in the industry, gaining him support from Noisia, Amon Tobin, DJ Craze, Mat Zo, Culprit, G Jones, and more. Since then, doorways opened across labels from a variety of genres. Drum & Bass focused labels TYPE91, CLOSE2DEATH and ALGORITHM releasing his fierce take on the sound, whilst rising bass labels UPSCALE and RENRAKU delivered his raw trap and halfstep influenced material in its full, devastating glory. His assured arc of fresh ideas led to the release of his first full length album “Fear Monger” on SATURATE RECORDS in 2017, demonstrating 12 tracks of raw low-end heavy material that set the precedent for CHEE tracks to come. In 2020, CHEE made his debut on Zeds Dead’s imprint label, DEADBEATS, releasing a 5 track EP featuring his popular song “Vultures”, gaining loads of DSP playlisting support and support from DJs across the festival circuit.
Over the last few years, he has continued to evolve his sound and push the boundaries of possibility within developing soundscapes. After coming off of 2 large bus tours as support, CHEE’s reach has hit all corners of North America and beyond and is set to play EDC Las Vegas, Shambhala Music Festival, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre in 2020/2021.

Los Angeles bass producer/DJ Tsuruda is a classically trained musician who blends elements of experimental hip-hop with avant-garde electronics. First debuting in 2014, Tsuruda has captivated audiences with his dynamic sound and hypnotizing live sets, which have taken him to marquee festivals like Shambhala Music Festival and EDC Las Vegas, in addition to his own solo tours throughout North America and beyond. His expansive discography is one of the most impressive bodies of work in independent electronic music. Tsuruda today stands at the upper echelon of bass music culture as an in-demand producer and internationally touring act.
A prolific artist, Tsuruda has self-released four full-length projects—drumsand (August 2014), madness (March 2015), rawflavor (July 2015) and RIP (February 2016)—in addition to his two part compilation series, Internet Slaps Vol. 1 (November 2017) and Internet Slaps Vol. 2 (January 2019). His discography also includes numerous singles on labels like Team Supreme and Darker Than Wax, a gang of bootlegs, and official remixes for Noisia, The Glitch Mob, Crooked Colours, graves and Project Paradise. In December 2017, Tsuruda’s original track, “Pack Heat,” was featured on Edition 1, the first compilation on Alix Perez’s label, 1985 Music.
In June 2017, Tsuruda released Move, his official debut artist album, on Noisia’s Division Recordings. He followed up with Unlimited Data (October 2018), his second artist album, released on Courteous Family, the influential Los Angeles artist collective and independent record label he co-founded in 2014. On his FUBAR EP (October 2019)—independently released and distributed in partnership with Los Angeles imprint, Alpha Pup—Tsuruda expands his sound into the outer limits of bass music. FUBAR (Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition) explores all shades of bass music—halftime, dubstep, garage—while still retaining his signature L.A. beat scene style. FUBAR includes standout singles “Dragon of the Darkness Flame” and “Kimchi Crisis,” plus “Little Mac,” a collaboration with Mr. Carmack.
Widely known for his idiosyncratic, third-eye-opening sets, Tsuruda has delivered mind-bending performances at some of the world’s leading festivals and marquee events. In 2015, he joined G Jones and Slow Magic side by side for a legendary sunrise set at Emissions Music Festival. In 2018, Tsuruda was handpicked as one of the select artists to close out the influential Los Angeles event series, Low End Theory. That same year, he unloaded unforgettable performances at Shambhala Music Festival in Canada and Electric Forest. Elsewhere, Tsuruda has toured with the biggest beat-masters in the scene, including Mr. Carmack and Shades (EPROM and Alix Perez). Most recently in 2019, he made his debut at EDC Las Vegas, joined G Jones on his Ineffable Truth Tour, supported Amon Tobin across a number of US dates, and headlined his own solo tour in the fall in support of his latest release, FUBAR. Tsuruda now enters 2021 with a growing schedule of upcoming tour dates and new music on the horizon.
